Oħloq Tbissima 2026 raises €470,118 in support of the MSSP mission

The 24th edition of Oħloq Tbissima, the annual fundraising marathon organised by ĊAM Productions International (CPI), the media arm of the Missionary Society of St Paul (MSSP), came to a close on Sunday evening after three days of generosity, solidarity and hope. This year’s edition raised €470,118, a testament to the remarkable support shown by thousands of benefactors who continue to believe in the Society’s missionary work in Malta and beyond.

For more than two decades, Oħloq Tbissima has become much more than a fundraising marathon. It is a moment in which the wider community joins the missionary journey of the MSSP, making it possible for our missionaries and collaborators to continue accompanying some of the most vulnerable people entrusted to our care. Every donation received is transformed into concrete action, offering dignity, opportunity and hope to children, young people and families facing challenging circumstances.

The funds raised during this year’s marathon will support the Society’s missions in Pakistan, Peru and the Philippines, together with the ongoing work carried out at St Joseph Home in Santa Venera.

In Malta, one of the principal projects currently underway is the development of three studio apartments at St Joseph Home. These apartments are intended to support young people who are leaving residential care and taking their first steps towards independent adult life. Beyond providing accommodation, the initiative offers continued mentoring, guidance and accompaniment as these young adults pursue further education, develop practical skills and begin their working lives.

Across our overseas missions, the generosity of our benefactors continues to make a lasting difference. In the Philippines, our missionaries are helping communities gain access to clean drinking water, supporting the construction of homes for families living in vulnerable conditions, improving food security and ensuring that children from disadvantaged backgrounds are able to continue their education.

In Peru, support from Oħloq Tbissima strengthens the work carried out at Aldea Infantil Sagrada Familia, where children receive care, protection and stability. The funds also help expand medical services through local clinics while providing daily meals to people experiencing poverty and hardship.

Meanwhile, in Pakistan, the Society continues to invest in healthcare services for those who would otherwise struggle to access medical treatment, while also supporting initiatives that improve living conditions for families in the surrounding communities.

The Missionary Society of St Paul expresses its sincere gratitude to every individual, family, volunteer, sponsor and collaborator who contributed to the success of this year’s Oħloq Tbissima. Whether through a donation, volunteering time, sharing the campaign or keeping the missions in prayer, every contribution forms part of a much larger story of hope.

The Society also extends its appreciation to the dedicated team at ĊAM Productions International, whose commitment throughout the year and during the marathon itself made this event possible, together with the many volunteers whose generosity of spirit continues to embody the missionary charism of the MSSP.

As another edition draws to a close, the generosity witnessed over these past days will continue to bear fruit in countless lives. Through the support of so many people, the mission entrusted to the Missionary Society of St Paul continues to reach those who need it most, creating opportunities, restoring dignity and, true to the name of the marathon, helping to create countless smiles.
